This crossing is constantly a safety risk I have been almost hit multiple times.

Agree with this. Palisade needs bike lane. And intersection at Palisade and Patterson Plank needs traffic calming mechanisms installed before someone is killed.

This whole area needs to be re-evaluated. Cars are consistently speeding down the viaduct and as well as the 14th Street bridge. There are no dedicated bike lanes and the sidewalks are ridiculously narrow. After today unfortunate death I hope both JC and UC will collaborate and work together to make this intersection and connecting roads safer for pedestrians and bicyclist. How many more lives need to be taken in order to see there is something not right here

This entire area needs to be redesigned. Cars are consistently speeding down the viaduct and as well as the 14th Street bridge. Their are no bike lanes,causing cyclist to ride on the sidewalk causing people to walk in the street. I ride my bike to work daily and have nearly been hit many times on my bicycle. It would be extremely efficient to install speed bumps/humps on the viaduct.

I have nearly been hit several times at the intersection of Paterson Plank and Palisade, when I have the walk signal. I understand from my neighbors that a bicyclist was recently killed at this intersection. This must be looked at ASAP before there are more fatalities.

Totally agree. This intersection is a safety hazard and needs to be redesigned. The most disappointing part is that we have a police officer posted at the intersection every morning that we watches people run red lights, nearly hit pedestrians, and generally create an unsafe environment for residents without enforcing the law.

Agree with everything said above. This area is extremely dangerous for pedestrians, bikers and drivers alike. With the light rail elevator, park and apartments nearby that require continual crossings by pedestrians and bikers, speeding cars are unacceptable

This intersection is too dangerous and has gone unchecked for far too long. How many lives will it take until it’s fixed?

Patterson Plank road and the south wing viaduct as well as Patterson plank and palisade Ave.. these two corners are right next to one another and are always have tons of traffic and accidents weekly, almost daily. The police are in the Doric parking lot, sitting in their cars, not helping with traffic or pedestrians.

@traffic this is correct. The traffic is too much for the road pedestrians and bikers are losing the battles and have to risk lives to cross the roads. Considering it is next to the park this often includes kids, strollers, dogs .

Any news? Almost one year has passed since the killing and this crossing remains one of the most dangerous in The Heights. Please look into it.

Every time I cross that corner to go to the dog park I feel like I am risking my life.
