Descrizione
Some time ago at this residence repair work was perform on the sewer line. Since that time, each and every time it rains heavy a potion of the yard and gravel parking area wash into the alley behind this residence. Currently the alley is covered in gravel and dirt. Not only does it look bad, the gravel is a potential hazard to the traffic using the alley. This washed area also flows into the storm drain. A simple solution would be to plant suitable vegetation and/or use a suitable covering for the area. Someone from the city needs to step up and see that repairs are made.

7/16/2012 – Thank you so much for sharing your very important concern with the City of Richmond government. This situation with the work done in the yard cannot be verified as a City of Richmond sponsored Sewer Line project. Richmond Sewer Maintenance did execute and unstop there in 2006. Any wear and tear in the yard must be handled by the actual property owner. The City will note be able to intervene for restoration. Regardless, there was a water project done in the alley February-March 2012. Restoration for the affected area has been requested on CRS #Request #20020853190. Because of time that may be involved with this request, updates or follow up can be conducted by dialing the Richmond Customer Care Center at 804-646-7000 and referring to Request #20020853190

7/20/2012 Thanks for your continuous communication with the City of Richmond government. This situation was presented to the Richmond Permits & Inspection Team and it was determined that once the sewer line was installed, the proper back-filling for the trench "was" provided at that time. There is no action that Richmond Permits & Inspection Team can enforce at this time and they noted the level of restoration provided at this point is strictly between the property owner and the contractor.
There is no action Permits and Inspections can take a this time. Albeit a request for alley maintenance was completed for 2604 W Grace Street (Request #20020726826) and the team noted 14 potholes were repaired in this alley as of 7/16/2012 - rtt

In response to your closing of the issue I have two comments. One who is responsible fro removing the debris from the alley? Two, just this morning I observed sever defect/pot holes in the alley surface. This is a heavily traveled alley that has lacked any maintenance other pot holes repair over the last several years.
I take care of sweeping the debris out of the alley behind my house. However every time it rains heavily the debris returns.

The owner is failing to maintain his/her property to community standards and State law specifically addresses pollution that runs into our streets and alleys and eventually the James River and Chesapeake Bay.
I am not happy to hear that you nor the city cares about polluting our environment.

8/28/2012 Service Review: Thanks so much for your communication with Richmond City government. We are bound by Code and ordinance as to what the City can and cannot do at this location. This matter was previously submitted to PDR Permits and they have given their advisement - any wear and tear in the yard must be handled by the actual property owner/contractor and the contractor has met its obligation to backfill the sewer trench; any further cosmetics or landscaping must be handled by the property owner. Richmond City will not be able to intervene for restoration for this private property since we did not install the sewer pipe. In the mean time, there are two tickets open for this location for investigation and handling, one for water meter installation restoration (Request #20020853190) around the affected area in the alley and an additional ticket for alley maintenance (Request #20020858782) along the entire length of the alley

10/4/2012 Thanks for your communication - again, there is nothing the City of Richmond can enforce on the property owner at this point after for landscapin after Permit Inspections has looked at this property. Typical soil and yard sediment that runs though the stormwater system has been submitted to Richmond Stormwater Mgmt (#20020867663) for an investigation with regards to Richmond City's standards. Restoration of the alley and the meter area was finished out as of 8/31/2012 (20020853190)
