It is death defying trying to get on here every night. Something bad is going to happen there one night. I hope it won't be me or anyone else killed.

i'd like to add that 95 on both sides in this area have a speed limit of 40. i know people are going to speed, but unless traffic is at a standstill, the average speed people go is 75. I think some sort of attention grabbing signs noting the speed limit would be helpful, as would enforcement. I have NEVER seen any speeders pulled over on this stretch of highway in 6 years.

I agree that this tends to be a very dangerous area. The excessive speeding is terrifying.

I so agree. And the exit to Long Wharf from northbound I-95 is bewildering and could not be more of an optical illusion if it had been planned - As you exit it looks as though you continue straight - but that leads across a hidden strip of grass onto what is actually the entrance ramp onto I-95 from Long Wharf! Very dangerous.

I have to agree, and the drivers already on 95 going South do not seem to understand that those getting on need to merge otherwise we will get forced off the highway from the exit only in West Haven...I have literally almost gotten run off the road and have had to deal with terrible road rage from people thinks I was "cutting them off" but unfortunately the road doesn't give you the choice...

The Army of Corps of Engineers did a poor job of designing "improvements" to I95 on the New Haven side. Yes, you risk your life at the merge. I can't believe that anyone of engineering talent could have approved this. It's an accident waiting to happen, as well as a hefty lawsuit by the victims and/or their families.

Exactly, it isn’t the speed so much as the merge into the traffic. It should be completely redone.
