The new stretch from Richmond Beach Road to the Saltwater Park has new sidewalks and one speed bump. Last night at dusk, several cars were driving out of the park at high rates of speed and flying over the speed bump. When the weather is nice, it's not unusual to have a string of cars revving and speeding down this stretch. I know that citizens shared this concern in the surveys prior to the design and installation, but, it looks like the speed issues will continue.

I live on this road and its has been an issue for years. Nothing makes you feel safer having multiple cars daily going 50-60 mph down this road. Ive asked the city to put multiple speed bumps or speed turtles (cheap) on this road to help fight the high speed cars. Hundreds of people use this road daily for walking, running, biking. I know its not a money issue because my neighbor offered to pay for the speed bumps and the city said no thanks. The city said it slows down the fire engines as the reason they dont want them. I work for the fire dept and it doesnt make much of a difference with the big fire engines. Safety should be the highest priority, daily speed kills.
Also people are starting to park on the westside of 20th at times making it a 1 lane road. There are no signs saying you cant park there. I think there needs to be signs similar to the eastside of the road.
