Weeds and Grass Archived703 Lee Ave College Station, TX, 77840, USA - SouthSide Area
The property at 704 Lee Ave, occupied by college students (unknown number) is sometimes used for parties, during which occupants or guests were observed urinating on the side of the house in full view of the neighborhood.
In addition to leaving beer cans and other debris in the front and back yards for weeks, sometimes months at a time, they have not mown the front or back yard for over a year - ever since occupying the property last August/September. The weeds and grass are now approaching waist-high height in the front and back.
Trash, bottles, and cans remain hidden within the weeds and tall grass. Since the end of the TAMU Spring Semester, the house appears unoccupied and left as is, along with a completely full trashcan along the side of the house that has begun to smell and is not covered/closed completely.
The occupants regularly allow trash to pile up on the side of the house by the garage, the area of which is covered with a significant amount of broken glass. This trash draws animals, flies, and vermin, some of which have taken up residence in the overgrown backyard where beer kegs have remained for some time, along with other debris and trash from previous parties.
When the occupants (rarely) take out the trash, they then leave the city cans in the street for weeks at a time, until they become a traffic hazard, especially when blown by wind or carried away by heavy rains.

Impervious Coverage Archived604 Welsh Ave College Station, Texas, 77840 - SouthSide AreaParking exceeds 50% of front yard. Historical Google Maps street view also shows gravel was installed after impervious coverage ordinance was passed.

Free Standing Mail Box on Street Archived503 Guernsey St College Station, Texas, 77840 - SouthSide Area
My neighbors are still gone for the Christmas holiday and yesterday, their landlord had a mail box installed literally right on the street. They do have a mailbox on the side of their front door.
Several concerns....is this mailbox in the city right away and most importantly, as close as it is to the street, their mail can easily be stolen.
And while it's not the city's problem, as much on the street parking as there is, it'll get knocked over when the students come back. Thanks so much.

City Trash Container Archived515 Old Jersey St College Station, TX, 77840, USA - SouthSide AreaTrash pickup was last Thursday. Cans are still at the street on Sunday morning and no one has been by to check or leave ticket warning. Grass is too high per city code.

Clogged Stormwater drain Archived1001 Pershing Dr College Station, TX, 77840, USA - SouthSide AreaSince our water lines were replaced, the stormwater drains have been clogged up, only allowing water to pass through slowly. Now that the project is finished, someone needs to come and clean this up.

Accumulation of Trash Archived614 Welsh Ave College Station, Texas, 77840 - SouthSide Area
I don't believe the residents at 614 Welsh are responsible for this mess....it was the best way to give you an idea where the location of this trash is.
I'm not sure if it's a resident getting their yard ready for spring, or one of the construction crews on Welsh dumping their trash, but I just don't think it's right for our sanitation crews to be expected to get out with a shovel and clean up these massive piles of dirt - one shovel at a time. Also, trash is just being piled on top of the dirt.
Maybe this is something the sanitation crews do, manually scoop up this type of trash, it just doesn't seem fair to them to have to do that because someone is too lazy to do it themselves. Thanks.

Other Archived500 Old Jersey St College Station, TX 77840, USA - SouthSide AreaSouthside NCO require trees outside the buildable area to be barricaded 1 foot for each inch of the tree's diameter. This tree is at least 18 inches in diameter therefore requires the barricade to be 18 feet from the trunk. Because 1/3 of the tree's roots have now been cut, unless care is taken during construction the tree is likely to die. I have an arborist we have used if the owner wants a recommendation.

Parking in the Yard Archived604 Welsh Ave College Station, TX, 77840, USA - SouthSide AreaDoes the city require a certain percentage of a front yard to have grass? This house now has a gravel yard, I guess to allow more parking. Just curious. Thanks.

Accumulation of Trash Archived1008 Welsh Ave College Station, TX, 77840, USA - SouthSide AreaI didn't realize I didn't get all of the trash in this photo but it is scattered all over the front yard and has been since last Friday. I hope y'all will call the landlord and have them come pick up the mess their tenants left. Our sanitation crews shouldn't have to clean up after them.
