Hỏi. Additional Information
Đáp. Many many many people do not stop at the stop sign at Liberty and St Pauls. I was just crossing the street with my dog IN THE CROSSWALK and was literally nearly run down by a car that went around a van (that was stopped at the stop sign), into oncoming traffic and through the intersection. I needed to jump back with my dog to avoid being hit. Jersey City is content to allow people to speed down this stretch of St Pauls, blow through stop signs and put peoples lives at risk. Will it take somebody being killed for the city to act? Ask the cafe for surveillance footage of people blowing through the stop sign. I’m happy to provide my footage of people regularly crossing the double yellow line to get to the traffic signal at Kennedy quicker. The speeding, the failure to obey the stop sign, the lack of yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk at St. Paul’s and Skillman, the 2 ton plus trucks that are legally banned from this street and yet use it everyday. This is a complete failure of this city to protect its citizens. Do literally anything to fix this but the lack of action is unacceptable.

A speed hump would be great. I’ve already requested one and was told by the city that they won’t put one on this block because there is too much traffic. Somehow the traffic is more important than the people.
Regarding flashing signs, there already is one at St. Pauls and Skillman that nobody heeds.

Please note that although I understand your frustration, a speed hump is a really bad idea in your location. This will create massive traffic back up as well as create breathing problems due to excessive exhaust fumes.
