Homeless encampment on the railroad right of way next to the Animal Clinic on A Street.
The city needs to create a point of contact between the railroad security department and the City of Antioch so that these continued encampments can be dealt with in a more expedient manner. This is not a good image for the Animal Clinic.

The homeless CITY is totally out of control. Yeah we all understand this is on railroad property and that the homeless are hands off, but this is a GROWING HEALTH HAZARD for the community and neighbors that have to see, hear and smell the filth. There is a mountain of trash and the number of tents are increasing. Our Council must take control of this and NOW. The Council was elected to among other things maintain a safe and healthy environment for its citizens, this isn't it. The Council must direct staff to coordinate with the railroad to keep this area clear of this hazard on a permanent basis. Nowhere in Bentwood, Oakley or Pittsburg do you see these tent cities at railroad crossings. I would assume they don't allow it or are in constant contact with the railroad to keep these things under control in their communities. Another thing that leads to the growing mountain of trash are people dropping off items to the homeless. Those items that are not wanted end up in the trash heap. Citizens of Antioch, you are not doing the homeless any favors and are certainly contributing to the problem. Get it done, either through coordination with the railroad or advise the railroad the City will contract to have it removed. TBA

  • A St & Belshaw St Antioch, CA 94509, USA - Antioch

The never ending story of the homeless encampment. Just last week they were removed and they are back.

I called Union Pacific 1(888) 877-7267 and a very nice lady told me that she would pass the information again. she did tell me that I should also check with the city of Antioch code compliance, because this is not the property of Union Pacific, that anything outside the fence or gate is city.

I will be filling a suit at small claims in the next two weeks. Please!!! of someone is interested in going after the city, please respond and we can find a place to meet, without giving personal information on this site.

I look forward to hear from anyone on this site.

    thank you

we don't need more than one picture to show the greatest change in Antioch. It seems that our grat leaders and Pacific Union have joined forces and created a haven for these loosers. Now the entire area smells like human feces and you can choose which needles to pick for your children to play. Way to go Antioch leadership!!!! keep it going and pretty soon we will have more homeless and drug attics than SF and Oakland combine.

  • 2507 Somersville Rd Antioch, CA, 94509, USA - Antioch
There are nine (9) vehicles including motorhomes with homeless living in them and piles of garbage strewn throughout the parking lot in front of the Bank of the West and Mountain Mike's Pizza on Somerville Road. These were cleared out once before and they are back. One car has a car cover on it with tires missing at the far end of the parking lot by Big Lots. This isn't fair to the businesses that are trying to survive or customers that have to see this filth. If Antioch refuses to keep these vagrants from setting up housekeeping anywhere they want in our community businesses will refuse to stay here. Opportunity is leaving Antioch and this is just ONE reason why. TBA

There is a homeless encampment between 2 Belshaw St and 2201 A St. At the rail road track. they are all very aggressive and are dumping garbage all over the place. This container was brought by them two months ago and now, garbage is spilling all over. Also, there are car parts just thrown there and making this area a complete mess.
Please do something before someone gets hurt and let's work together in getting Antioch Cleaned up.

    Thanks

This is completely out of hand and the city of Antioch building code enforcement, and Lamar Thrope are doing nothing about it. not only our streets are no safe but now they are just steps away from starting fires.

I have started a petition with some of the neighbors to sue the city and Lamar Thrope, if you would support me in this suit, please comment on this post, and I will look for you. the more people or business, the stronger our case.

    let's make Antioch great again.
