  • 71 Mechanic Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock

A pile of sawdust left behind after tree removal this summer is now a hot spot on dogs' walks on the way to the dog park. It has been repeatedly peed upon and now smells of time-cured manure. Dogs keep peeing on it and it slowly rots from the inside creating a disgusting brown earthy pile of unpleasantness

I believe I am not alone in my desire to have this removed before it freezes solid.

Behold! The odd man out of Mechanic Street! Rendered the entire right side of our street unparkable! Thanks, neighbor!

Two dumpings of snow, and the sidewalks in front of Star Supply need to be shoveled.

According the the city's new sidewalk rating spreadsheet, our Mechanic Street sidewalks are rated as poor, no surprise to anyone who lives there. However, we are not on the queue to get them fixed anytime soon. This is especially an issue as the push to energize the neighborhood for East Rock School. Hopefully, more kids will be walking to this school when it opens, and we should not have lots of tripping hazards between the children's homes and the school

The sidewalk next to Comcast and the bus stop on Chapel Street at Olive is disgusting, with trash all over the ground. I'll upload a picture later today.

A tree appears to be dying in front of our house. The power lines feed through the branches, and I'm afraid that a big storm, snow, or ice could break branches all over the power lines, wreaking havoc.
