The City of New Haven is talking about a rather large tax increase. If that's the case, why are we spending the time of the downtown ambassadors putting lights up on the poles on Chapel Street, in addition to obviously the additional electricity cost this will be.

The holiday lights in your picture are owned and installed by Yale for their shops at Yale area. You may have seen our ambassadors today taking down holiday lights from light poles on chapel as the season is pretty much over.
While I cannot say anything about the city and their taxes I believe it’s important to note that Town Green Special Services District and our Ambassadors are established through a separate surtax that is paid by downtown property owners.
