Still not fixed. Now the Left turn arrows come on every cycle in both directions - even when no cars are turning left. All cars on Newtown Road must sit and wait in a congested line for no reason. Why isn't this fixed after 60 days. Who ever is responsible for these traffic signals should be fired for incompetence. The thousands of drivers using this busy section of Newtown Road deserve better service and a timely response to all reported problems.

I wanted to provide an update, your request remains active and is currently under review with the Department of Public Works. There is currently no time limit for completion.

It is hard to believe this problem still exists after six months. The left-turn delayed greens on Newtown Road at Cleveland Street/Ethan Allen Lane are still always active in both directions - this forces all Newtown Road traffic to wait even when no cars are turning. Please fix this already!

We have a detection failure on the Stoney Point approach to Newtown. There was another problem causing other phases to call and extend unnecessarily that was corrected. The below issues still remain for repair but there is currently no estimated completion timeframe for the repairs to be completed.
1) Newtown & Stoney Point (SR#324289) - New in-pavement detection needs installed for Stoney Pt. east bound direction and Newtown Rd. south bound direction.
2) Newtown & Cleveland/Ethan Allen (SR#425505) – New in-pavement detection needs to be installed for Newtown Rd. north bound left turn lane and Newtown Rd. south bound direction.

I work on Cleveland St and this intersection is always a mess. It is unacceptable that this has not been fixed, especially since this ticket has been open for 6 month. There is no reason for this to be unresolved, period. I also have other tickets about issues on Newtown and they’re not getting resolved either. Glad to see our tax dollars are hard at work here. Who do we complain to about unresolved issue?

The people responsible must have some type of protection from being fired for not doing their job. Anyone can see all of the traffic problems here and in the rest of the city by activating the traffic function on Google Maps. This area is red for most of the day. All I get is lame replies that they are aware of the problem and working to fix it. How can they keep getting paid for inaction!

I drove that way yesterday and it is still not working properly. Total incompetence by those responsible.

I reached out to the City of Norfolk Transportation Department and have been told that the issues with the traffic signals at Newtown at Stoney Point South and Newtown at Cleveland St were repaired on March 23, 2018.
